A wily young fox felt hungry one day
So he thought he'd look for a fat juicy prey
But he hadn't accounted for a Rabbit called Ace
Who had led many foxes a merry old chase
The wily young fox set off from his lair
Not knowing the Rabbit had been watching him there
But he soon picked up the Rabbits scent
And the hunt was on with great intent
The Rabbit hid and as the fox passed by
He hit him squarely in the eye
The wily young Fox was hopping mad
Knowing that he'd been cleverly had
And in his anger he stubbed his paw
Then fell over and hurt his jaw
Ace the Rabbit just chuckled with glee
Being safe for a while behind a tree
And then at a tremendous pace
He left the fox and went an with the race
But the wily young fox was not to be done
He spotted the Rabbit and started to run
Clenching his teeth he said with great pain
"I'll not be outdone by that Rabbit again"
But the Rabbit had more than one trick to play
He'd spied a big hole in the ground on his way
He covered it over with Twigs and Grass
Knowing this way soon the fox would pass
He cheekily hid where he couldn't be seen
And soon he heard the wily fox scream
The clever Rabbit had lived up to his name
He'd tricked the fox and done it again
And when at last the fox crawled out
He was too exhausted to run about
And the last thing he saw when feeling so grim
Was the back of a Rabbit too clever for him.
