Considering that there are no original writings of the Bible in the world, but old manuscripts.

What will be the most reliable translation of the Bible? How to recognize it? Which version of the bible do you use and why that version and not another?

My wife and I used to both teach Sunday school many years ago. We do not do so now. Assuming you mean English translations, the New American Standard Bible (NASB) is regarded as the most accurate and faithful to the original languages. However, it is a formal equivalency translation, so the language can often seem stilted. The New Revise Standard Version (NRS) is another good one. For younger children, the The New Century Version, which is an update to the International Children's Bible, is a good choice.

Thank you for this interesting answer. Whenever I talk about this topic of Bible translations, I remember a translator called William Tyndale.

For us Baptists, we used the Authorized King James Version 1611 Bible since it is the originally published KJV text from 1611 AD using archaic english. Although it is difficult to read by some 21st Century English readers, the translators produced an accurate translation known for its beauty, cadence, and poetic feel. It also contains the original text that was edited or even removed by other versions of the Bible.

Honestly I don't mind what version of the bible is I am reading as long as I am enjoying the content of it because the message and words there are more important to me than the version of it. I do understand that there might be some people who are very meticulous about it but so far for me I don't have some problems with it as long as the word of god there are exact and very true.

I believe the closest translation is the King James Version. Since it is published in 1611, it is the closest to the original text in Hebrew and Greek. Nevertheless, one can recognize it thoroughly regardless of the version, if he or she is guided by the Holy Spirit. I believe in spiritual gifts, and the passion to learn more and be guided by God’s wisdom. I’m currently using King James Version and New International Version. The reason is sometimes, I do not have ample time to research the texts in King James Version, so I look for the equivalent verse on New International Version.

Greetings, thank you very much for sharing your point of view on the theme of the versions of the bible, it is appropriate to know several opinions on a certain topic, you made me remember an application or program called ESWORD which allows to have available, in digital format and in parallel, several versions of the bible, I have not downloaded the latest versions, but the one I had available was very good.

I remember before when I was still studying that our school give us some bible to read and it was just a cute bible that can only be inserted in our pocket. I find it to be great since it was my first time before to read a bible and use those words in my day to day life. I just already forgot on what type of bible it was and who was the author by it but over all it was really helpful.

Hi, junrose123, thank you for sharing your opinion on this topic, what most calls my attention in your comment, is that regardless of the version of the bible that you could have, you gave an adequate value to the information that you received or could find in it , which is fundamental when it comes to learning about God and everything in relation to him. Thanks for sharing part of your experience.

You are welcome for that since I am not the type f person that would be choosing or demanding for anything, as long as I have something that I am seeing or reading then I am already satisfied with it especially if it was the word of God. I would surely love it and accept it with all my heart and soul without any regrets.

I use King James version. I couldn't understand it my whole life until I went to Jesus and was saved. Instantly it was like someone took my blinders off and I could comprehend. I now compare other versions to get a deeper understanding. But my main Bible that I refer to is always going to be King James version. I feel more connected to the word of God reading that one.

I believe that every version of the Bible is useful. It is the application of what is written in the Bible is what matters most.

I suggest the New International Version. (NIV) . It's written in plain, clear English and easy to read. Case closed.

The most translation of the Bible aside from the Old manuscript is the King James Version or The Authorized Version. There is no other Bible translation that is close enough to the original than the King James Version.
