Overview In this lesson, the students will be taught the skill of summarizing through various activities. First, they will activate their prior knowledge by identifying what is happening in the pictures shown in the First, Then, Finally activity. Then, they will be made familiar with the skill of summarizing using either a video lesson or reading material. Once done, they will apply what they have learned by summarizing the text titled Pandora's Box. Afterwards, they will be divided into pairs for the peer critiquing activity wherein they will evaluate the works of their classmates using the Summarizing Checklist. Lastly, they will share what they have learned by completing the sentence prompt in the activity titled Simile Me. |
