Each player makes a tower of 6 cubes.
One player breaks their tower in half and writes 1/2 on a piece of paper.
Hand the paper to their partner, who also breaks their tower in half but counts the number of cubes in each half.
Then write the equivalent fraction on the paper next to the first fraction, i.e. 1/2, 3/6.
Both players should check that you agree that the equivalent fractions are correct.
The player child then builds a tower with a different even number of bricks.
Repeat this activity until players have written six fractions equivalent to 1/2.
