In June of this year, the New York arts nonprofit chashama kindly commissioned my "Representations of the Feminine in Tissue Paper," a mixed media, on-site installation at the Condé Nast Building in Times Square. I created the installation specifically for the nonprofit's annual fundraising gala using large quantities of tissue paper and found objects. These objects ranged from a discarded Saks Fifth Avenue mannequin to broken mirrors to old necklaces and more. Every year, the gala typically features the work of a couple different artists. Most of the projects, including mine, had an interactive or performative aspect to them. "Representations of the Feminine in Tissue Paper" was a living collage that I built and manipulated as the night went on. Gala attendees had the chance to add to the collage if they wished.
