    Depression, does it stop creativity?

It does - in more ways than one. But there are times when it's the key to unlocking creativity. I wish there's an easier way to explain this but I guess depression is a double-edged sword. For certain people, it hinders their creativity. On one hand, other people tap on their sadness and...

    Depression, does it stop creativity?

Depression is a double-edged sword. Other people get a burst of creativity through it, while some lose their way (and are thus unable to create something). It basically depends on how resilient the person is. The resilient ones tend to see it as a blessing while the pessimistic ones see it as a...

Quick and Not So Quick Sketches

I am so impressed! You have talent, you should develop it further. Even though they're portraits, your sketches remind me of still-life paintings. You capture people as they work or while they're in the midst of a serious endeavour. The expressions of those characters you drew gave off that kind...

    Walking while sun sets :)

I'm mesmerized. That picture looks like an impressionist painting! If you don't look closely and examine every detail, you'd easily mistake it for a beautiful artwork. Seeing it makes me feel blessed to alive and well. Hope to see more of such pictures.

All Ages Can music classes improve my voice?

Yep, even the greatest singers have vocal trainers and coaches, which goes to show that voice quality fluctuates and changes over time. In fact, you may have heard the news that Mariah didn't perform well in some of the cities she toured last year. That was surprising because we all know her for...

    Esteem issues

Well the good thing about students with special needs, take for instance those with autism, is that they're rarely self-conscious. They are rarely aware of their own condition so self-esteem issues, in many cases, don't really hit home. It also depends on the school, the values it has imparted...

All Ages Is there a correlation?

I don't think it's healthy method. I mean, won't students get tired having to perform physical exercises in between lessons? It would distract their concentration instead of improving it. Ideally, PE classes should be held every Friday so that they get a break from mentally draining subjects...

All Ages Why do you love art?

Art basically frees you from structure and preconceived notions that seem to plague and trap many mindsets. Art widens your horizon and lets you express yourself in a manner and method you're accustomed to. The great thing about Art is that it transcends boundaries and there's no set of rules...

    All Ages Email and learning

I'm not sure I agree with you on that account. Emails are useful for correspondence but they don't make for effective learning tools unless you're in graduate or postgraduate school, where students are free to learn at their own pace and style as long as they comply with course requirements.

    A lonely bird?

What a heartwarming picture. It's really lovely. We don't usually recognize emotions in animals but your picture projects a bird that's looking out into the sea, deep in thought. Maybe it's thinking about life. Maybe it's just sad. Two thumbs up! Keep up the good work.

All Ages What part of the human body is hard to draw?

I think the human body, after a lot of practice, isn't that hard to draw - every inch of it. However, if you want to give it more fluidity and facial expressions, this where you need to exert more effort and improve your drawing skills. A bending human body or one doing yoga, for instance, can...

    Sunset.

The colors are so vivid - the orange sheen and the backdrop of the dark blue sky. Hopefully I get to see more of such sunsets. Here in my part of the world, the sun turns dark orange when twilight hits and this is mainly because of air pollution.

All Ages Is History Interesting To You?

I'm all for history. Although the amount of information you have to memorize often gets in the way of your enjoyment, sitting in history classes, reading history books and novels and watching period dramas always induce a sense of excitement. I particularly love the Graeco-Roman, Medieval...

All Ages Most Interesting Event In History

That Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing during WWII was not an interesting event for me, unfortunately. Tragic, yes, but I'd rather give the interesting event award to the time Thomas Edison discovered electricity. Imagine our world today without his tireless efforts.

    Is LinkedIn still relevant?

I have a LinkedIn profile but I'm not maximizing its potential as much as I should for the reason that I want to keep my identity private as much as possible. Some people do find LinkedIn useful but it's more of a status or reputation thing for others than a tool for professional growth.

    Writing a novel

I am currently writing novels. It's a painstaking process but I'm keeping my hopes up I'll eventually finish one before the year ends. Inspiration fluctuates once in a while, but as budding novelists, it's our job to keep the fire alive lest it affects the quality of the story.

Free Online Book Reviews, where can we find them?

Yes, Goodreads.com is also a great place to find genuine and heartfelt reviews. Most of the people who offer reviews there are committed readers who've had an extensive experience reading books from different genres.

    What's your favorite classic novel?

Well, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, The Catcher in the Rye and To Kill a Mockingbird are some of the classic novels that have left a deep impression on me. I like Jane Austen's wit and Charlotte Bronte's eloquence, while I can relate to Holden Caulfield's teenage struggles and angst and find...

Tip of the Week: Mystery Skype

That's great. Skype is an awesome communication device but a lot of people are using it for the wrong reasons these days. Thankfully, Skype is redefining its image with this new innovation. Hopefully, more and more kids will be able to learn geography in a fun and less troubling way.

    Top 5 Novels

If I had the chance, I wouldn't limit my favorite novels to 5. As far as life lessons are concerned, however, the following are on top of my list: Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende The Lord of the Rights...
