Album: Xavier Sager

Austria, 1870 - United States 1930 Not much information is available on the life of Xavier Sager. He designed more than 3000 different cards, for a total of 3 millions cards printed. Most cards we're signed Xavier Sager, but he also signed a few as Leger, Salt Lake, etc. Sager is considered to be the creator of this type of caricature (specially those on fashion and hairstyles of women), and many imitated his style in Paris ( Aris Mertzanoff, Charles Naillod, G. Mouton, Robé, Vindier, A. Molynk).
